We are studying spatial pattern formation in oscillating systems with external periodic forcing. Like a single oscillator a spatially extended system of oscillators can be entrained to the forcing frequency. The patterns that form, however, depend on the forcing frequency and amplitude. We observe rotating spiral waves, standing-wave labyrinths, and other synchronized irregular patterns.
