Surface Mesh Example

A novel method for improving the quality of polygonal surface meshes is described in this paper. The method improves the shape of elements of the surface mesh while minimizing changes to the surface characteristics and to the node positions. The surface improvement is achieved by node repositioning using local parametric spaces easily derived from the original mesh elements instead of using a global parametric space computed at a much greater cost.
